Here at The Vintage Jeweller, we have cufflinks to suit any man’s style and any occasion, read below our brief history of cufflinks and how you can style some of our range…
The cufflink first appeared in fashion in the early 16th century and were fastened together with ‘cuff strings.’ During the reign of Louis XIV, they gave way to something called ‘sleeve buttons’ which were usually identical coloured glass buttons which were joined together by a short chain. This then progressed and by 1715 where the style of decoratively painted or jewelled studs, such as diamonds connected with gold links became popular.
