An impressive mid-19th-century snake bangle by the French jewellery house Labitte Frères, beautifully crafted in 18ct yellow gold. The serpent's coiled body creates a wonderfully sculptural design, while its head is decorated with rich blue enamel, a raised pearl surrounded by old-cut diamonds and ruby-set eyes. A clever fastening mechanism at the back allows the bracelet to be adjusted to different lengths. The bold, intertwined design gives this remarkable piece a striking presence when worn.

Labitte Frères was established in Paris in 1842 by brothers Louis Joseph and Charles Labitte, at 11 rue du Renard Saint-Sauveur. The firm remained there until 1869, when Pierre Sabé took over the business. Identical hinge and clasp mechanisms can be found on other Labitte Frères bracelets. Few examples of their work survive today, but the firm's jewellery is distinguished by its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Delivery outside of the United Kingdom (Worldwide)

We offer FREE worldwide shipping.

Orders under £1500 are sent via Royal Mail “International Signed For” and you should expect to receive your item within 5-10 working days.

Orders over £1500 are sent via FedEx and you should expect to receive your item with 1-3 days. Local taxes and duties may apply.
