This is a rare and exceptionally crafted mourning ring that dates back to the mid 18th century. Framed between the gold band is a delicate urn-shaped centerpiece, which is set with old cut diamonds and realistically portrayed. Black enamel accents decorate the surface of the urn and the band features the words 'Not Lost But Gone Before'. The diamond "lid" at the top serves as the handle of a hidden compartment on the back of the urn. When pulled open, the hinged door reveals a small hollowed space inside. This would have been originally used to store a keepsake, like a small band of woven hair.
This is an exceptional antique mourning ring, it is rich in history and would be perfect for a serious antique jewellery collector. Although it is a durable ring we advise our customers to respect all early rings and treat them with care.

We offer FREE worldwide shipping.
Orders under £1500 are sent via Royal Mail “International Signed For” and you should expect to receive your item within 5-10 working days.
Orders over £1500 are sent via FedEx and you should expect to receive your item with 1-3 days. Local taxes and duties may apply.
